YoOp!

Getting a Read on a Group, Instantly

YoOp! set out to make it fast for anyone to ask a group a question and see where people actually stand, instead of running an informal poll across group chats or a show of hands.

Approach

The core flow was built around three moments: compose a question with structured answer options, publish it to a shared feed ("Cartelera") where people vote, and watch results update live as votes come in. As co-founder, Franky led product design and the visual identity, and built the hybrid frontend in Ionic.

How It Works

A user opens the question composer, writes a prompt, and adds possible answers — with options to allow custom write-in responses, mark a question private, or set it to close automatically. Published questions appear in a shared feed where people vote publicly or anonymously and see live result percentages update as more people respond.

Real screens from the shipped app — login, the Cartelera voting feed, the question composer, contacts, and live results.

Impact

A working real-time voting product spanning question composition, a public feed, and live results.
Franky led design and built the shipped hybrid frontend himself, alongside the product and visual identity.

Reflection

Co-founding this taught me that the hardest design problem wasn't the voting screen — it was the question composer. A poll is only as good as the question and options behind it, so the parts of the product that got the most design attention were the ones that helped people ask a better question, not just answer one.
