Franky Aguilar

A bit of background

The Story

01

Origin

Franky grew up in Bogotá with a deep curiosity about how things work — taking things apart not out of impulse, but out of a need to understand what made them come to life.

02

Craft

That curiosity became a design practice: understanding the essence of a system, then transforming its complexity into something that feels clear, intuitive, and natural.

03

Detour

Along the way, that same instinct pulled him into game design, illustration, and hardware experiments — different mediums, the same question of how people and systems meet.

04

Turning point

Landing inside large operational products — hospitality, telecom, enterprise software — showed how much is at stake when complexity isn't designed away: real staff, real guests, real workflows.

05

Education

He holds a degree in Design, with a focus in Communication and minors in Innovation with Technology and Visual Computing, from Universidad de los Andes. He keeps that practice sharp through the Interaction Design Foundation — coursework spanning HCI, AR/VR UX design, and AI for designers.
