A Front Desk Running on Scattered Tools
SynXis Property Hub is Sabre's property-management system for hotel front-desk and back-office teams — the tools staff use to see who's arriving, manage rooms, and keep a shift moving. This work centered on the daily dashboard, the home screen every shift starts from, plus the reservation and task flows it needed to connect to.
Approach
The dashboard was redesigned as the front desk's single home base rather than one report among many: a responsive layout surfaces availability, reservations, occupancy projections, room status, and today's to-dos and groups in one glance. Reservation creation was rebuilt to handle multiple guests and split payments in one flow instead of several, and guest-facing retail add-ons were connected directly to it. This work is also part of Sabre's broader rebrand of the platform under the Nuvola name.
How It Fits Together
A front-desk agent starts at the dashboard — availability, arrivals, departures, occupancy projections, room status, and a shared to-do and groups list, tested responsively from 1440px down to 375px. From there, creating a reservation supports adding companion guests and splitting payment across methods. Guest-facing add-ons — from spa bookings to late checkout — post directly to the room folio, closing the loop between what a guest asks for and what shows up on their bill. Completed tasks roll back up into the dashboard, tracked by department and status.
Interfaces

Dashboard
The front-desk home screen — availability, reservations, room status, and today's tasks and groups at a glance.

Reservation & folio
A guest's full stay record — dates, add-ons, room info, and a live folio summary — in one place.

Retail add-ons
Guest-facing add-ons, like a breakfast package, post straight to the room folio when confirmed.

Tasks
Completed tasks tracked by department and status, from housekeeping to maintenance to food & beverage.
Impact
Sabre's internal roadmap projects this work to improve task efficiency 28% across the 20,000+ hotels in 160 countries running on SynXis — that figure comes from Sabre's own planning, not a measurement made during this project.
Reflection
This project lived entirely inside a tool with over a decade of incremental decisions behind it — every widget on that dashboard carried tribal knowledge about why it worked the way it did. The job wasn't to start over; it was to find where the accumulated complexity was actually just complexity, and where it was load-bearing.
